Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto, 1975

Walnut, Ebony, Anodized Aluminum & Black leather. Pretty good condition: normal wear consistent with age and use (few light scratches on the wood structure). Flaws and few leather losses around the edge of the seats, next to the seam, due to time and usage. Identifyng Maxalto mark imprinted by maker on the legs.

This set of 4 Africa chairs was designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for the Maxalto “Artona” serie in the 1975. It is a rare and high-quality production realized with luxury materials such as black leather, walnut and ebony by the italian artisanal experience. An elegant golden metal plaque brings together the 2 sculptural wooden parts of the back rest/legs.
